Fortune Cookie is looking for an associate Microsoft Technical Developer to join our growing technical team of Experience Architects, Project Managers, Developers and User Interface Designers in our London offices.
Working as part of an enthusiastic and highly motivated team, you will apply your skills to define world-class solutions for Fortune Cookie’s wide range of blue-chip, retail and public sector clients.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in testing-led, object-oriented development and will need to be proficient in both building and maintaining solutions to the highest standards.
The candidate will work on projects both in Fortune Cookie's Clerkenwell offices and from time to time on-site at our (predominantly London-based) clients.
The successful candidate will be keen to further their technical skills and achieve certifications in Microsoft .NET and will receive high-quality professional training from Fortune Cookie's training partners to achieve this.
The ideal candidate will also have skills in maintaining "classic" Microsoft ASP applications including migrating applications to Microsoft .NET.
It is expected that the successful candidate would progress to a Technical Developer role then Lead Technical Developer role within three years and potentially a Technical Architect or Project Management role within 5 years. Training and mentoring will be provided to help attain that goal.
Skills required
- Experience of ASP.NET 1.1, 2.0 or 3.0
- C# to a good standard and knowledge of the following:
- Key .NET class libraries and namespaces (e.g System.Data, System.Xml, etc)
- XML
- XML Web Services
- Unit testing (NUnit)
- Visual Studio.NET, 2005 or 2008
- Source control systems (especially Subversion)
- XHTML and web standards
- Database design and ERD/DDL
- SQL
Experience
- Microsoft .NET experience (C# is preferred)
- Microsoft ASP Classic experience
Qualifications
- A university degree from an internationally-recognised institution in a relevant technical discipline (either computer science, physics, chemistry, mathematics or engineering)
